Former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday rejected claims that he was receiving his mother's pension even after her death.

Calling out a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Prasad said that the report was baseless and had no truth. He added, "My mother's pension was closed soon after she died in December 2020".

“Dainik Bhaskar has tweeted that my mother’s pension has continued even after her death, which is completely baseless and factually incorrect. My mother died on December 25, 2020, and her pension account was terminated on December 31, 2020. It is impossible to receive a pension in a terminated account.”, Prasad tweeted.

"I am deeply pained by this false and misleading news about my late mother. The concerned newspaper had not received any information from me or my family in this matter before running the news", Prasad added.

Dainik Bhaskar in a report claimed that Bihar ministers, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Nitin Naveen's mother's account received pension even after their death.
