New Delhi : Sending a caution about the threat to the country from cyber crimes, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said that various disruptive forces are trying to lure and mislead young minds over the internet.

He was speaking after inaugurating an information security conference here. Singh said the government was concerned about cyber security. He said that efforts must be made to ensure that the country’s systems and networks are updated properly. His obvious reference was to the recent cases of the luring of youngsters through social media and the internet to join terror outfit Islamic State.

Singh said the government will soon set up a cyber crime coordination centre on the suggestions of an expert committee.

According to Home Ministry sources, a Rs 400-crore cyber crime control hub, to be called the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, will be set up to check cyber crime as per the recommendations of the committee.
