Raje retains important portfolios, Kataria gets Home ministry

Jaipur: In a major portfolio reshuffle after yesterday’s induction of 15 new faces in her cabinet, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today retained important portfolios like Finance and Excise while giving responsibility of Home ministry to Gulab Chand Kataria.

Raje still holds over a dozen of portfolios, including Finance, Excise and Public Relations.

Kataria who was cabinet minister with Panchayati Raj and Rural Development is now minister for Home, Justice, Home Guards and Civil Defence, Jail, and Calamity, according to an official release here.

Raje’s left hand cabinet minister Rajendra Singh Rathor, who is holding Medial and Health ministry, made more powerful with Law, Parliamentary Affairs, Ministerial department in Secretariat, Election and Waqf departments.

Gajendra Singh Khinwsar, till now the Energy Minister, is given new ministry of Industry, NRI, DMIC, and Youth Affairs.

While Energy Ministry portfolio is given to new incumbent Pushpendra Singh who is Minister of State.
Primary Education and Bhasha departments are taken from Kalicharan Saraf and given to BJP’s old face Vasudeo Devnani. Saraf is now left with Higher and Technical Education as cabinet minister.

PWD Minister Yunus Khan was allocated another responsibility of Transport Department.

Kiran Maheshwari, former BJP MP, will now be Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) and Under-Ground Water minister. This ministry was held by Sanwarlal Jat who is now MP and was holding this post till now.

Arun Chaturvedi and Hemsingh Bhadana, who were promoted to Cabinet rank from MoS today, were retained with their Social Justice and Empowerment, and Food and Civil Supply ministry, respectively.

Dr Rampratap was made Water Resources Minister while Ministers of State (Independent Charge) Krishnendra Kaur Deepa in Tourism, and Rajkumar Rinwa in Mines department.

Two new cabinet ministers Surendra Goyal is allocated Rural Development and Panchayti Raj Ministry, while Rajpal Singh Shekhawat is given complete charge of Urban Development.
