Jaipur, May 28: The Member of Parliament from Bharatpur in Rajasthan Ranjita Koli was attacked by unknown people Thursday late at night.

She was admitted to a hospital in Bharatpur although discharged after some time. The MP was going for a sudden inspection of a community health centre in Vair Block of her constituency.

Few unknown people near a village tried to stop the car of the MP and when it did not stop they attacked her car with iron rods and bricks. The driver took the car to the village and informed villagers. Police were called and MP was taken to hospital as she got unconscious.

Polic has registered a case against unknown people. The opposition party BJP has accused the government of the issue of law and order in the state. State party president Satish Poonia said that MP was inspecting the health centres and revealing the status of health facilities.

This attack raises a question on the status of law and order in the state where even an MP is not safe.
