New Delhi : The Railway is tweaking the flexi fares introduced on the premium trains since September 19, after noting many seats and berths remaining vacant. Following a review of the flexi fare system’s effect in up to October end, the Railway has decided to reduce the cap on the increase in the fares of Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi trains from 50% of the base fare to 40%. A notification will be issued shortly to effect the change. The flexi fare which goes up by 10% with every 10% seats or berths booked will not exceed 40%.
