New Delhi : Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi will give a break of four or five days to his Kisan Yatra after reaching Lucknow on September 23 to attend to the organisational matters that have piled up, particularly concerning Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa that too are going to polls along with Uttar Pradesh in January or so.
Party sources said he would resume the “Deoria to Delhi” Yatra from Sitapur to cover the western Uttar Pradesh in the first week of October. The itinerary drawn up for the time being is to travel to Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Agra, Bulandshahr and Meerut districts and end the 2500-km journey on which he embarked on September 6. The places he would be covering in the last leg include Badaun, Kasganj, Hathras, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Amroha and Gadhmukteshwar. The Khat Sabhas will be held at Agra, Hardoi, Farukhabad, Badayun and Meerut, the party sources said.
Rahul covered Mahoba and Jhansi districts on Saturday while he will be continuing further journey in Jhansi district on Sunday and then move on the Jalaun district, with a night halt at Oral in Jalaun.
