Raipur: The clash started over the arrest of the Zee news anchor Rohit Ranjan seems not to be ending soon. Raipur police initiated further action in the case and declared the alleged controversial anchor absconding on Wednesday.
A police team reached the accused Rohit Ranjans’ Ghaziabad residence around 9 am and found his house locked. After following the official procedure, he was declared absconding and a manhunt was launched to find out his whereabouts, Raipur police said in a statement on Wednesday.
Raipur police team also reached Zee News office, Noida on Wednesday and tried to record the statement of Zee News officials, as none of the officials were available for the statement, the team returned pasting the notice on the office wall.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also sharply reacted to the action taken by UP police in the case.
UP police have tried to save the criminals in the case. Instead, they have to cooperate with the Raipur police which reached Ghaziabad to arrest the anchor, Baghel said.
BJP was not even ready to abide by the orders of the courts, the CM criticized.
Moreover, a day ago, when the Raipur police team reached the anchor’s residence, a scuffle broke out between Raipur police and the UP police team over the arrest. "The police team of Noida took the accused anchor to the local police station from where he was said to be missing," said one police official from Raipur Police.
Notably, an FIR was lodged against a controversial anchor for airing a doctored video of Rahul Gandhi, Senior leader of the Congress Party in which it attempted to smear the image of the Congress leader and present him as sympathisers of assassins, who brutally slaughtered the tailor in Udaipur.
After the incident, Congressmen continuously launched verbal attacks on the BJP leaders.
