Patna: As the final phase of the general election approaches, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed two election meetings in Shahabad region in Bihar and is scheduled to hold another public meeting at Paliganj in Magadh region on Wednesday.
Modi invoked Lord Ram at his public meeting at Buxar and recalled Ram and Lakshman got their education at Vishwamitra ashram in Buxar. He promised to develop Buxar as tourist spot by including the town in the Ramayan circuit. At Sasaram, the headquarters of Rohtas district, which is considered the rice bowl of the state, the PM remembered the veteran Dalit leader, Jagjivan Ram, who represented Sasaram eight times in Lok Sabha.
His daughter and former speaker of Lok Sabha, Meira Kumar is the Congress candidate from Sasaram. Modi attacked the Congress party and RJD in both the meetings and alleged the leaders of the two parties that they became richer and made the people poorer.
“People should compare what these ‘Mahamilavati’ people, who are shedding tears for poor, have done for the poor and for their own family. What are they doing today? Before voting, people should remember how much property do they own. These people exploited poor people’s money to indulge in corruption, they have looted the poor,” Modi said.
“I have been the longest Chief Minister of Gujarat. By people’s blessing, I became the Prime Minister and worked for five years in Delhi. Even after being in politics for so many years, the amount of property I own is like an open book. You can compare both of them,” he added.
He appealed to the electorate to vote for a strong government which can launch a decisive war against Naxalism and terrorism. He also attacked caste politics in Bihar and UP. Without naming Lalu Prasad or Mayawati, he said they practiced caste politics only to exploit the poor. “My all programmes are aimed at improving the conditions of poor and the villages”, PM said.
