New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday extended the President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir for another six months from July 3 on the recommendation of its Governor.
A resolution seeking approval of parliament for the same will be moved in both the Houses of Parliament during the forthcoming session, I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar told a press conference here.
He said the Cabinet chaired by PM Modi also cleared the Bills to replace the Ordinances issued since the last session and these include reintroduction of a Bill on triple talaq that was passed by the previous Lok Sabha but got stuck in the Rajya Sabha.
Javadekar hoped the new Bill will also receive the muster of the Rajya Sabha to help the Muslim women.
