Police detain vehicle carrying explosives in Purulia district

Purulia (West Bengal): In the backdrop of a recent blast in Burdwan district that left two suspected militants dead, police on Saturday detained a vehicle carrying explosives in Purulia district of West Bengal. They recovered 1100 detonators and 2800 gelatine sticks from a Tata Sumo which was going towards Barabazaar area from Boro area. Two men, S.K. Sahabul and Rakesh Mudi, were arrested. Reportedly, these men were going to deliver the explosives found in the car to a third person, Chandan Singh of Barabazaar area. Purulia police is interrogating to find out if these huge quantities of explosives were being carried to any Maoist or terrorist groups.
