Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday visited Jammu and Kashmir, amid a busy day of public addresses and announcements Modi took time off to visit the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar. In a video posted by news agency ANI on Twitter, PM Modi is seen waving as he tours the Dal Lake on a boat.
But incidentally, separatists had called for a complete shutdown to protest the Prime Minister’s visit. Normal life in the valley remained affected due to the strike called by separatists. All shops and business establishments remained closed while public transport was off the roads. Even internet services were snapped by authorities as part of efforts to ensure that the Prime Minister’s visit passes off smoothly.
So if the normal life in the valley remained affected due to the strike, so who was PM Narendra Modi waving at? This video, however, left Kashmiris confused – because they felt that with the strict security measures in place, there was no way there were people who were waving back at Modi.
