Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given an official welcome at the Akasaka Palace here on Monday on the third day of his visit to Japan.

Earlier in the day, he visited the Taimei Elementary School here, and followed it up by meetings with Japanese Foreign and Trade Ministers — Fumio Kishida and Toshimitus Motegi.

He then also delivered a keynote address at a business luncheon organized by Nippon B Keidanren, Japan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to call on Emperor of Japan Akihito and meet Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera later in the day.
