Agartala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the second unit of the 726 MW gas based thermal power project at Palatana in Gomati district, Tripura Governor P B Acharya said today.

“The second unit of the Palatana will be operational soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the unit. I’ll go to Delhi to invite him again,” Acharya told reporters at the Rajbhavan here.

Acharya, who is also holding the post of the Governor of Nagaland, said he had spoken to many university authorities in the country for introducing short courses on the dialects of the northeast tribals and four universities – Delhi, Manipal, Mumbai and SNDT University of Women – had agreed.

He said the Prime Minister would also be present at the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland in December.

Acharya said Nagaland had the highest number of public toilets proportionate to its population, which is a good example of keeping the country clean.
