PIL in apex court: Misquoting judicial orders is corruption

New Delhi: Amid poll season, a PIL has been filed in the SC seek­ing direction that misquoting judi­cial orders by political leaders during the poll campaign should constitute a corrupt practice.

The plea, filed by BJP leader and advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, said the EC can recommend any probe agency to look into plaints against con­t­esting candidates and political off­i­ce-bea­r­ers for seeking vote on reli­g­ion, ra­ce, caste, community or language.
