JAIPUR : A Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) delegation will submit a memorandum to the Chief Vigilance Commissioner in New Delhi on October 14 to demand a probe into the alleged mining scam in Rajasthan, state Congress president Sachin Pilot said on Tuesday.
The delegation will be led by Pilot, ex-chief minister Ashok Gehlot and AICC general secretary and state incharge Gurudas Kamat.
Pilot alleged that the state government was bent upon covering up the irregularities committed in the allotment of 653 mines in the state. The Congress state chief emphasised that the government committee constituted to probe the allotments was an attempt to eyewash the corruption at the top level. “The committee comprises government officials who played an active role in the allotment of mines. What is the relevance of the committee then?” Pilot asked.
Meanwhile the former urban development minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal said its a land scam which was initiated in 2005 when the BJP was in power and the anti corruption bureau of the state should initiate action a Panwar, who also served as a Union secretary in the Union government.
