Pathankot attack: Operation to eliminate terrorists continues

Pathankot (Punjab) : Fresh explosions followed by intermittent firing reported on Sunday evening at the Pathankot airbase, where a combing operation is on to get it freed from the terrorists.

Firing which was stopped on Saturday night, resumed at 12 noon on Sunday. It was again stopped at 4p.m. for about 2 hours. The search operation continued the whole night.

Four terrorists were killed on Saturday. During the operation Indian Air Force lost six personnel and NSG lost Lt Colonel Niranjan.

DIG Border range of Punjab Police said that security agencies doubt that one or two more terrorists are still hidden inside the airbase and they have been located by the security agencies.

The Punjab Police and the BSF have cordoned off the whole area around airbase.

All roads leading to Pathankot have been sealed and no vehicle is allowed to enter the city.
