OUR STAFF REPORTER BHOPAL The issues, on which the Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev is going for an indefinite fast from Saturday at Ramlila Maidan, are the ones which were already raised by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, but in absence of right strategy, these issues could not take the form of a movement in the country.
It was Chauhan, who had first demanded to stop the circulation of currency notes of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 denomination. Chauhan was the first to advocate direct election for Prime Minister and chief minister, which Baba Ramdev has now included in his agenda.
Chauhan, who was first in expressing concern on the use of black money in election, had said that there should be government fund in elections so that elections could not be contested on the basis of money.
Baba Ramdev is insisting on framing public service guarantee act and constituting special court for dealing with corruption, which are again the ideas of Chauhan. Madhya Pradesh is the first State in the country where public service guarantee act has been implemented and there is law for seizure of property of the corrupts, and Baba Ramdev is now raising these issues through his Satyagraha.
The issue of bringing back black money stashed in foreign countries was raised by the BJP during Lok Sabha elections and the same thing is now being raised by Baba Ramdev.
The issues raised by Baba Ramdev, in some way or the other, reflect the initiatives taken by the State Government and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan but the Baba has so far not mentioned that the issues raised by him are already being implemented by the State Government.
Baba Ramdev and Shivraj Singh Chauhan, differ on bringing Prime Minister under the purview of Lokpal bill. Baba Ramdev is keen on not putting the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India under the ambit of Lokpal whereas Chauhan is advocating on bringing people sitting on top level posts under the jurisdiction of Lokpal.
Shivraj already raised all the issues, difference is only in bringing PM under purview of Lokpal
