According to Hindustan Times, the Enforcement Directorate put six of Nirav Modi's 12 cars on re-auctioning. A Rolls Royce Ghost and Porsche Panamera were among the six cars and were re-auctioned as the ED found the previous bids to be less for the two high end cars, whilst the bidders failed to pay for the others.
Mumbai office of Metal Scrap Trade Corporation Limited (MSTC), a state-owned e-commerce company was responsible for organising the e-auction. According to sources, the sellers reserve right to sell or reject an offer thus the new bids will be scrutinised as per the market conditions after which it will be decided whether the cars will be sold or not.
This time the Porsche got the highest bid of Rs. 60 lakh which was more than previous bid which was Rs 54.60 lakh. On the other hand, the Rolls Royce which had fetched Rs 1.33 crore was now sold for Rs 1.70 crore.
The other cars however fetched lesser values than the last time with the Mercedes Benz GL 350 sold for Rs 48 lakh unlike the earlier Rs 53.76 lakh, the Honda brio went for Rs 2.39 lakh instead of the earlier Rs 3.90 lakh and a Toyota Innova which was sold for Rs 8.70 lakh unlike the previous Rs 9.12 lakh. The last car was a Skoda Superb which remained unsold and had been bid for Rs 7.02 lakh during the previous auction.
