New Delhi : The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Wednesday said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government is responsible for obstructing the country’s progress, as they had opposed the passage of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill when they were in the opposition. “Jaitley should be reminded of the time he was in the opposition and was against the passing of the GST Bill. This is the reason why the GST Bill was not passed five years back and today they are saying that we are trying to stop the country from progressing,” said NCP leader Tariq Anwar. “If there is hindrance in the progress of the country it is because of them and all their allegations are baseless,” he added. On Tuesday, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had hit out at the opposition saying that it was blocking the economic progress of the country. He further attacked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi saying that they could not accept that anyone outside their family could rule India.
