Jammu: Opposition National Conference led by Omar Abdullah today staged a walkout from Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after their adjournment motion condemning twin terror attacks in Jammu was rejected. The NC also sought reply from Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for his remarks that non-state actors were involved in the twin terror attacks in Kathua and Samba districts. NC MLA Devendar Singh Rana had moved a resolution in the House seeking a debate in the Assembly over the terror attacks and CM Muftis’ remark.

BJP MLAs also protested and shouted slogans like ‘Pakistan murdabad’ in the Assembly and demanded befitting reply to Pakistan. They were countered by NC members who termed it as “drama”, saying that on the one hand BJP members are in the government and on the other side, they are seeking action against terror attacks. The resolution was rejected by the Speaker resulting in walkout by NC from the House.

“I had brought a resolution in the House to debate the issue of the twin attacks and contradictory statements by the BJP, the government and the security officers. Even Chief Minister has blamed non-state actors responsible for the attacks. What are these non-state actors. We want replyfrom the Chief Minister to identify the non-state actors”, Rana told reporters here outside the Assembly. NC stages walkout from J-K Assembly over terror attacks Jammu: Opposition National Conference led by Omar Abdullah today staged a walkout from Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after their adjournment motion condemning twin terror attacks in Jammu was rejected.

Even Chief Minister has blamed non-state actors responsible for the attacks. What are these non-state actors. We want replyfrom the Chief Minister to identify the non-state actors”, Rana told reporters here outside the Assembly.

“While Chief Minister is blaming non-state actors, his Deputy Chief Minister is blaming Pakistan, another BJP minister is blaming Army and BSF, and Army and Police are giving contradictory statements”, Rana said adding we want to seek reply from them, what is the factual position. “I had brought a resolution in the House to discuss the terror attacks and contradictory statements of the government, NC wanted to adjourn the question hour and we wanted to a debate on it but the Speaker rejected”, he said. Chief Minister should come out and clearly state who were these non-state actors involved in acts of terror, in which lives were lost, he said, adding we condemn it.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh told reporters that Pakistan and ISI are involved in it, we blame them. Congress member Usman Majid also took a dig on the Chief Minister for blaming non-state actors for terror attacks and said it is clear that Pakistan has sent terrorists and they engineered terror attacks here. Why is there need to absolve Pakistan from the responsibility, he said. BJP member Rajiv Jasrotia said that Pakistan and ISI are directly involved in these terror attacks and we held protest that is our right. We want a befitting reply to be given to Pakistan, he said.

Opposition NC and Congress sought a discussion on the terror attacks in the legislative council and later walked out from the House after the Chairman refused to take up the matter immediately. NC’s Ajay Sadhotra and Congress member Jugal Kishore brought in two resolutions seeking discussions on the terror attacks and contradictions in the statements of the government and its agencies over the involvement of militants. NC and Congress members urged Chairman Amrit Malhotra to adjourn the business of the House and discuss the issue.

The Chairman, however, told them that it could be taken up after Question Hour. Irked by it, the NC and Congress members staged a walkout from the House. Later speaking to reporters, Ravinder Sharma of Congress said the “situation is grim”. “Two attacks have taken place in the last two days, and we had brought in resolutions to debate the issue on the floor of the House after adjournment of today’s business.” “The Chairman, however, disallowed it saying that it could be taken up after Question Hour,” he said.

Sharma said they wanted the House to discuss “this grave issue on which the PDP-BJP combine gave contradictory statements, starting from the chief minister who blamed non- state actors for the attacks and the Deputy Chief Minister who accused Pakistan and ISI.”
He accused the chief minister of “emboldening” terrorists by his “pro-militant and pro-separatist statements since the day he took over as state’s chief minister”.
