Raipur: A Naxal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 8 lakh on his head, was on Monday arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Maoist-hit Bijapur district, police said.
The Naxal cadre, identified as Sodi Ganpat (22), was apprehended by a team of police from his native place Punnur
village under Awapalli police station limits, a senior police official told PTI.
Based on specific inputs about the arrival of Ganpat at his village, a team of Awapalli and Basaguda police mobilised towards the spot, located around 450 kms away from state capital Raipur, he said, adding that after surrounding the place, security forces nabbed him.
