Nashik: Four persons including three professors were seriously injured here today after being allegedly attacked with an axe by their college securityguard, police said.

The incident took place this morning on the campus of Sonawane Arts and Science college at Satana, a tehsil town of Nashik district after accused–Bahadursingh Pal (42)–suddenly came charging in a fit of rage, they said.

Pal was apparently angry over the fact that he had not been confirmed as an employee even after serving the college for past many years, Satana police said.

The college staff–Professors Sunil Sagar, Prafulla Thakare, Dr Dilip Shinde and peon Deepak Magare–were injured in the attack.

They were rushed to Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical hospital, where their condition is said to be critical.
