Panvel: A corporator of the Panvel Municipal Corporation, Vijay Chiplekar, accompanied by around ten others, allegedly attacked a worker of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Prashant Jadhav, on the midnight of April 29. Chiplekar, who belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been accused of distributing money for the Panvel municipal elections and Jadhav had allegedly exposed his act.
Reportedly angered by Jadhav’s revelations, Chiplekar, accompanied by around ten goons, violently attacked Jadhav on Monday. Jadhav is battling for life in hospital. According to police, Chiplekar attacked Jadhav in ven-geance. Kamothe Police have lodged a case against Chiple-kar and nine others.
