Just days after the deadly Pulwama terror attack, during the external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj’s interaction session with the Indian community at Rabat, Moroccan singer Nasr Megri sang the favourite bhajan Mahatma Gandhi ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’.

‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’ became popular during Mahatma Gandhi’s lifetime and was rendered as bhajan in his Sabarmati Ashram. It was popular among freedom fighters throughout India. The bhajan was originally written in the 15th century by the poet Narsinh Mehta in the Gujarati language.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, who reached Morocco on Sunday, said India will seek to consolidate its partnership with the North African country in several areas. Swaraj, on her maiden visit to the country, said an MoU on counter-terrorism cooperation will be signed between India and Morocco. Sushma is currently on a three-nation visit to Bulgaria, Morocco, and Spain.
