Trust Mamata’s TMC to have its own version of Oscars. Unmindful of the other slots, it has announced its winner for the Best Actor category. And, no guesses: Yes, it is none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For the late risers, the Academy awards were held on Sunday (telecast in India early Monday morning) and Rami Malek won the Best Actor award for the movie ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
TMC reportedly made up its mind after PM’s holy dip at Kumbh and his sublime gesture towards swachhta Karamcharis – washing their feet, as a mark of respect for dignity of labour. TMC even took to twitter and posted a spoof comprising video clips from the Academy Awards ceremony and an ecstatic Modi being mobbed by a large group of people who are congratulating him, apparently for the best actor win.
Actors Gary Oldman and Allison Janney, who presented the recently concluded Academy Award to this year’s winner Rami Malek, were seen announcing PM Modi’s name as best actor. The voice-over was doctored from Rami Malek to PM Modi. The video was captioned “and the Oscar goes to…”
