Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee slammed BJP and said that the central government is making an ‘economic blockade’ for the state.
Addressing a programme for distribution of students’ credit cards at Netaji Indoor Stadium in central Kolkata on Thursday, Mamata slammed the central government for not giving backlog money to the state.
While giving out the credit cards to the students, Mamata also snubbed the banks for asking for the income certificates of the parents before giving loans.
“Submission of parents’ income certificates is not mandatory. Some parents are having this feeling that income certificates are compulsory as several banks are asking for it,” said the Chief Minister, mentioning that the state government is the guarantor of the loan.
Without naming anyone, Mamata while addressing the programme also said, "People make mistakes but they can be rectified."
“Sometimes people make mistakes while working. Those who work make mistakes and those who don’t work don’t make mistakes. Negativity affects our brain cells so let’s think positively. Some people don’t see the good work done by people,” mentioned the Chief Minister.
