Over 12.79 crore voters will decide the fate of 945 candidates on 71 Lok Sabha seats spread across nine states during the fourth phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls. As per the election schedule, five seats in Bihar, one in Jammu and Kashmir, three in Jharkhand, six in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha each, 17 in Maharashtra, 13 in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh each, and eight in West Bengal will go to polls during the fourth phase of polling. Union minister Subhash Bhamre, and Congress leaders Milind Deora and Urmila Matondkar are among the 323 candidates whose fate would be decided in the fourth and final phase of polling in Maharashtra across 17 Lok Sabha seats on Monday. Altogether 3.11 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise across the 17 seats of Mumbai metropolitan region and parts of northern and western Maharashtra.

The constituencies up for grabs are – Nandurbar, Dhule, Dindori, Nashik (North Maharashtra), Palghar, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Thane, Mumbai-North, Mumbai-North West, Mumbai-North Central, Mumbai-North East, Mumbai-South and Mumbai-South Central in the Mumbai region, Maval and Shirur in Pune district, and Shirdi in Ahmednagar district. There are 65 critical booths in suburban Mumbai where the polling process will be monitored through web-casting, an election official told PTI. People will not be allowed to take their mobile phones inside the polling booths, an official told PTI. A total of 33,314 polling stations are set up across the 17 constituencies. Out of 3,11,92,823 eligible voters, 1,66,31,707 are men, 1,45,59,698 women and 1,418 members of the third gender.

Mumbai: Sachin Tendulkar, his wife Anjali Tendulkar, daughter Sara Tendulkar, and son Arjun Tendulkar after casting their vote at polling center number 203 in Bandra. Sara Tendulkar and Arjun Tendulkar are first time voters.

1.20 pm: Mumbai: Actors Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan & Aishwarya Rai Bachchan cast their vote at a polling booth in Juhu.

1.05 pm: Estimated voter turnout till 12 pm for the 4th phase of #LokSabhaElections2019 is 23.48%. Voting is underway in 72 constituencies, across 9 states.

12.55 pm: Mumbai: BJP candidate from Amethi, Smriti Irani and her husband Zubin Irani cast their vote at a polling booth in Versova.

12.50 pm: Mumbai: BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Mathura, Hema Malini and her daughters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol after casting their vote in Vile Parle.

12.40 pm: Union Min&BJP leader Piyush Goyal after casting his vote at Walsingham School, Malabar Hill in Mumbai: This election is now a Tsunami election. North South,East&West, Modi wave has overtaken the country. PM Modi is the tallest leader today in the country.


12.35 pm: Maharashtra: Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, his wife Rashmi Thackeray and son Aditya Thackeray after casting their vote at a polling booth in Gandhi Nagar, Mumbai. Poonam Mahajan BJP’s candidate from Mumbai North Central LS seat also present.

12.30 pm: Maharashtra: Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar cast their vote in Mumbai.

12.15 pm: TMC women supporters protest in Nanoor of Birbhum district, after BJP opposed TMC supporters who insisted on polling despite absence of central forces at the polling booth. Police is trying to mediate between the two groups.

12.00 pm: Mumbai: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and his wife Renu Namboodiri after casting their vote at polling booth number 167 at M.M.K. College in Bandra.

11.50 am: Rajasthan: Erstwhile King of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh casts his vote at booth number 127 in Jodhpur. BJP’s Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Congress’ Vaibhav Gehlot are two of the candidates from the Jodhpur LS constituency.

11.45 am: Mumbai: Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra after casting his vote in Malabar Hill, says, “We all have been infected by the virus of progress and growth. Even if a coalition govt comes, it should work towards progress and growth of the country.”

11.40 am: Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut after casting her vote at a polling booth in Khar.

11.35 am: Polling percentage recorded till 11 am in #Phase4 of #LokSabhaElections2019 : 17% in Odisha (6) and 34.71% in West Bengal (8 seats).

11.25 am: 21.15% voter turnout recorded on 13 parliamentary constituencies in the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections, till 11 am.

11.05 am: Mumbai: Priya Dutt after casting her vote at a polling booth at St. Anne’s High School in Bandra for the 4th phase of #LokSabhaElections2019 She is the Congress candidate from the Mumbai North Central LS seat, Poonam Mahajan is the BJP candidate from the constituency.

11.00 am: 17.07% voter turnout recorded in five parliamentary constituencies of Darbhanga, Ujiarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai and Munger, in #Bihar, till 11am. Estimated polling percentage of 29.21% recorded till 11 am in Jharkhand.

8.20 am: West Bengal: Villagers boycott polls at Jemua’s polling booth number 222&226 in Asansol due to absence of central forces at the polling station. Polling has been suspended at the polling station as voters are protesting.

8.10 am: Bihar: CPI candidate from Begusarai, Kanhaiya Kumar arrives to cast his vote at a polling centre in the city, says, “Begusarai ko badnam karne wali takton ko Begusarai mein muh ki khani padegi.” He is contesting against BJP leader Giriraj Singh in Begusarai.
