NEW DELHI : Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala-led Indian National Lok Dal has walked out of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in protest of the Bhartiya Janata Party’s bid to strike an electoral deal with Kuldip Bishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) in the state for the Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP leaders squirmed that the Lok Dal acted on the media reports while no deal has been yet made with the HJC in view of the fact that the latter was also flirting with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for an alliance in Haryana.

The Lok Dal has, however, gone ahead declaring its candidates for all 10 constituencies in the state.

The only handicap for it in campaigning is that its top leaders Chautala and his son Ajay Singh are in the Tihar Jails here since the conviction in the infamous teachers’ recruitment scam.
