New Delhi: Twelve live cartridges were found on Monday in a washroom in the parking lot of Indira Gandhi International Airport’s T-3 Terminal, from which international flights operate. The 12 live cartridges of .38 bore, used in pistols and revolvers, were found by a washroom attendant when he had gone to clean a washroom located on the second floor of the parking lot of the T-3 terminal around 4 PM, said a senior police officer. “It seems as if the person wanted to dump the cartridges.
The person had tried to flush them but since they are heavy, they were found in the pot. Four other cartridges were found lying near the pot,” said the officer, adding that the person might have tried to dump them knowing he or she could be held inside the airport for carrying live cartridges. Efforts are being made to ascertain the identity of the person. –PTI
