Kolkata : Newly- elected Left Front legislature party leader in West Bengal Sujan Chakraborty on Tuesday met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and urged her to take urgent steps to stop post-poll violence in the state. Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) state secretariat member Chakraborty, who won the recent assembly polls from the Jadavpur constituency in South 24-Parganas district, was elected Left Front legislature party leader earlier in the day. After the meeting, Chakraborty told the media: “We told her that even after the conclusion of the elections, loot and violence is still going on and the government must pay attention to these issues. She advised us to talk to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee regarding these issues.”

Chakraborty was accompanied by three other Left Front legislators — Anisur Rahaman and Asok Bhattacharya of the CPI-M, and Biswanath Chowdhury of the Revolutionary Socialist Party — during the meeting with the CM, reports IANS.
