Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav, who was admitted in a private hospital since Saturday was rushed to AIIMS, New Delhi on Wednesday evening in an air ambulance.
His eldest daughter and Rajya Sabha member, Misa Bharti and a team of doctors accompanied the former chief minister.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who visited Lalu said, "Lalu is our old friend. Bihar government will meet the entire cost of his treatment and air travel. This is his right. He will undergo tests at AIIMS. We pray to God for his fast recovery."
Lalu's son and former deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Prasad Yadav said, "Lalu is down with many health issues. He may be taken to Singapore too for better treatment"

Earlier, BJP president J P Nadda telephoned Tejaswi to inquire about his father's health. National President of JDU, Lallan Singh met Lalu family at the hospital
Prime Minister Narendra Modi AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi also telephoned to Tejashwi.
Lalu had fractured his leg and back on Saturday night when he slipped down the stairs at 10, Circular Road bungalow of Mrs Rabri Devi.
