Rebel BJP MP Kirti Azad ‘Jha’ (60) is sulking ever since the Congress denied him the Darbhanga Lok Sabha seat in Bihar, which he had won thrice. But indications are that he is being fielded from the prestigious New Delhi seat against another cricketer, Gautam Gambhir (37), who recently joined the BJP.
Jha has been asked to wait for formalisation of the Congress-AAP alliance; Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is agreeable to AAP leaving the New Delhi seat for the Congress if he is the candidate, sources said. AAP wants to contest five of the seven seats while talks are on to persuade it to leave at least three seats for the Congress. Jha was also offered Dhanbad seat in Jharkhand but he was not interested.
