Jharkhand's voter turnout at 7.12 per as recorded at 9 am on Saturday.

Naxals attack bridge in Gumla district, voting unaffected says police
Naxals blow up a bridge in Bishunpur in Gumla district. No injuries have been reported so far. Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan says that the attack has not affected the voting process.
Voter turnout of 11.2 per cent recorded till 10 a.m in 13 constituencies in six districts
A voter turnout of 11.2 per cent was recorded till 10 a.m. in the 13 constituencies in six districts of Jharkhand where first phase of Assembly elections were underway on Saturday.
Maoist-issued threats appeared to have little impact as over 13 per cent voting was registered in the first two hours in the Latehar seat where the insurgents had killed four policemen just a few days ago.
Overall, there was around 11.2 per cent polling till 10 a.m., an Election Commission official said after polling began at 7 a.m. in Chatra, Gumla, Bishunpur, Lohardaga, Manika, Latehar, Panki, Daltonganj, Bishrampur, Chhatarpour, Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhawanathpur. (IANS)

Clash breaks out between BJP and Congress supporters in Chainpur, EC demands report
Amid polling for the first phase in Jharkhand, clashes between BJP and Congress supporters have been reported from Kosiyara village of Chainpur here.
Congress candidate K.N. Tripathi accused BJP candidate Alok Chaurasia and his supporters of looting the booths.
The Election Commission has taken cognizance of the incident and sought a report in this regard from the district administration. (PTI)

Congress candidate accuses BJP leader of looting booths in Chainpur
Amid polling for the first phase in Jharkhand, clashes between BJP and Congress supporters have been reported from Kosiyara village of Chainpur. Congress candidate KN Tripathi accused BJP candidate Alok Chaurasia and his supporters of looting the booths.
As per the reports, Congress candidate KN Tripathi from Daltonganj is seen with a revolver. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has taken cognizance of the incident and sought a report in this regard from the district administration.
According to sources, the BJP supporters stopped Tripathi from going to the booth after which supporters of both the parties clashed. However, the security personnel over there tried to handle the situation. (IANS)
