New Delhi: Jet Airways will start direct flights from Mumbai to Ho Chi Minh, the largest business city of Vietnam, from November 5 and Vietnam Airways will reciprocate to fly to India early next year.
President Pranab Mukherjee announced this in his press conference on board the special aircraft, wrapping up his 4-day state visit to Vietnam.
He said this will improve connectivity between the two countries, opening up the potential of greater flow of people for business, education as also for tourists.
Mukherjee said he also invited the Vietnamese leadership and people to visit the land of Buddha to re-kindle the age-old connection. “We shall also be commencing restoration work of Cham Monument at My Son,” he said. My Son in Vietnam is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined temples constructed before the 14th century.
