Chennai : AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, who returned as Tamil Nadu chief minister after being acquitted in a corruption case, will contest the June 27 bypoll from Radhakrishnan Nagar seat.
A decision to this effect was taken at the AIADMK Parliamentary Board meeting here, Jayalalithaa said in a party statement. The seat was vacated by her party MLA P Vetrivel and she had been tipped to contest from the constituency, reports PTI. Jayalalithaa assumed the office of chief minister again on May 23 and would have to be elected as MLA within six months.
