Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President G A Mir today condemned the killing of a teenager in police firing in Budgam district. Condemning the firing incident by police, Mir said police personnel should not have opened fire. “Killing of civilians and innocent persons is unacceptable and intolerable,” Mir said in a statement today.

Mir termed the incident “very unfortunate” and asked the government to conduct an immediate probe into it. The police personnel involved in the incident should be brought to book and punished as per law, he said, adding the injured persons should be provided free medical treatment. A youth was killed and two others injured in a firing incident at Narbal in Budgam district yesterday during

protests against killing of two youths in an army operation in Tral area of Pulwama district on Monday. Two policemen including an officer have been arrested in connection with the killing at Narbal while the SHO of the area has been attached for “lack of supervision”.
