Jaipur: It seems even the 10-headed demon king Ravana could not escape the impact of rising prices. With more demand for “low-cost” effigies, artists this year have made Ravana figurines, which are set on fire on Dussehra, with just one head. “This year, people preferred buying low-cost effigies. Earlier, we used to make effigies of ten-headed Ravana but we kept the Ravana single-headed this year due to increased cost,” said Jagdish Jogi, an effigy seller. He said small-size effigies, 10-30 feet high, are in demand this year. Burning of effigies and colourful fairs marked Dussehra celebrations in the Pink City on Friday.
