India reported 48,786 new COVID-19 cases and 1,005 deaths during the last 24 hours. At the same time, data from the Health Ministry indicates that 61,588 people recovered from the virus. With this, the total number of active cases stands at 5.23 lakh, while the cumulative case tally since the pandemic began has risen to 3,04,11,634. The death toll in the meantime, is inching closer to the four lakh mark.
