JAMMU: A MIG-21 fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in an open field in Anantnag district in Kashmir, killing the pilot Squadron Leader Raghuvanshi. According to eye-witnesses, the pilot steered the plane away from populated areas to save civilians lives.  The MIG-21 was on a routine exercise. The pilot was a resident of Surat and had married four years ago.
