Jaipur : A Chandigarh based Indian Air Force officer Shashank Shekhar was arrested by the Border Security Force at the Kailash Chowi at Indo-Pakistan border in Sriganganagar district on Sunday evening.

Shekhar, who is a Wing Commander apparently apparently was in a disturbed state of mind.

The additional SP of Sriganganagar Devendra Bishnoi said that Wing Commander Shekhara wearing T-shirt and trouser had come from Ambala on Sunday and had reached Anupgarh with an intention to cross over to the Pakistani territory when he was nabbed by the BSF jawans. He was handed over to the police by the BSF personnel.

According to Bishnoi the officer was in a disturbed state of mind and was carrying his passport,nine blank cheques,an ATM card and his identity card. He was on leave and he was hiding his passport in his shoes.

The police is interrogating him. The defence spokesperson Col SD Goswami said the IAF has ordered a probe into the matter and senior air force officer are reaching Anupgarh to assist the police in interrogation.
