Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra refused to talk politics in her maiden press meet, and instead asked everyone present to join her in observing a two-minute silence for the slain CRPF jawans. “I think it is not an appropriate time for us to be having political discussions,” she told the gathering. Later, she said in a detailed statement that ‘‘I can very well understand the pain and grief of losing a loved one in the family.’’
