The Election Commission has always been taking efforts towards building an active democratic electorate in India. Counting on new voters is equally important for the Election Commission and to facilitate them EC had come up with an application in the month of January to ensure a hassle-free voting experience for the first time voters.

The Voter Helpline App helps you know everything that you want and it is freely available online but if you’re still seeking some help as a first-time voter, here are the five things you must know before casting your special vote out:

Electoral Roll – You have to make sure that your name is present in the electoral roll for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 by visiting the Election Commission’s website and checking your name in the voters’ list for 2019.

Helpline 1950 – This is a toll-free number given by the Election Commission of India to guide anyone who needs assistance. You can ask your doubts via text or call.

cVIGIL App– The cVIGIL app was introduced by the Election Commission on March 10, 2019, which comes with a Model Code of Conduct (MCC) for candidates and their political parties. If you find any candidate violating the MCC, you can report it on the application along with a photo or a video of the particular activity for authenticity.

Lok Sabha Elections Schedule – The Elections are scheduled for April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Visit our website (will add link) or Twitter handle (will add link) for updates on Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Polling Day – Voting will be done through an Electronic Voting Machine (EVMs) which will have an attached verifiable paper audit trail. This paper audit trail will print a copy of your vote in order to ensure it. EVMs are also having faces of candidates this time along with their party symbol to make it easier for first-time voters to vote.
