To expand movement across nation
New Delhi : Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti leader Hardik Patel on Wednesday announced the formation of a new group, Akhil Bhartiya Patel Navnirman Sena, with the aim to unite the Kurmi, Gujjar, Maratha and Patel communities.
Patel, who has been spearheading protests in Gujarat to demand reservations for the Patel community, said at a press conference here that the new organisation would try to mobilise support of these communities on the issue of reservation.
“The Akhil Bhartiya Patel Navnirman Sena will fight for the cause of farmers, labourers and youth of the country,” he said.
Patel said he would also fight for reservation in government jobs on the basis of castes.
Earlier, he had said that he would fight for reservation in jobs according to the economic condition of the candidate. Patel also plans to organise a Mahasabha in the national capital next month to further his cause.
Hardik on Wednesday announced plans to expand his movement across the country and began by batting for Gujjars in Delhi with a demand for return of their land acquired for various purposes. Patel said his Akhil Bhartiya Patel Navnirman Sena (ABPNS), an umbrella organisation of Patels, Kurmis and Gujjars, will work for the rights of its communities in different parts of the country.
Beginning with Delhi, the 22-year-old Gujarati leader said, “When we came to Delhi, we learnt that our brothers’ lands had been acquired at meagre amounts and now huge structures have come over there.” pening should be given back to our Gujjar brothers.”

Probe Hardik’s speech, file sedition case if necessary: HC
Ahmedabad The Gujarat High Court has asked the city police to conduct probe into the allegedly provocative speech of Patel agitation leader Hardik Patel during the August 25 `mega-rally’ of the community here and register a case of sedition if required. Justice J B Pardiwala on Tuesday directed the Vastrapur police here to investigate the allegation that the 22-year-old leader made `seditious’ speech on that day. The order came on a petition filed by Narendra Gadhvi of Gandhidham in Kutch district seeking Hardik’s prosecution for alleged sedition.
Gadhvi, who filed the plea through advocate R K Rajput, claims that the Patel leader had on August 25 appealed to the community-members to reach the national capital and bring road and rail traffic to a halt. He also provoked the Patels to take law in their hands, he alleges.
Police refused to accept his complaint so he moved the court, said Gadhvi. The HC asked the police to conduct an inquiry and disposed of the petition.
