NEW DELHI :  The Government has ordered a CBI inquiry into a senior official of the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) allegedly amassing wealth and properties by leaking question papers and allowing an online test centre for the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) last year at Kota in Rajasthan in a tacit deal with the mushrooming coaching industry there.

Though CBSE’s Director of Special Examination Pitam Singh has denied the allegations, the Human Resources Development Ministry decided to refer the matter to the CBI after its vigilance wing found prima facie evidence against him in a preliminary inquiry.
