An RSS man and one-time ABVP office-bearer, Munde came into the limelight after being detained with Pramod Mahajan during the Emergency. Five time MLA and Maharashtra deputy CM from 1995 to 1999. His stint as state home minister was noticeable for a high number of allegedly fake police encounters.
