Jammu:  Four brothers drowned Tuesday in flash flood in Jammu region’s Rajouri district, a police official said.

“Four brothers were washed away in a flash flood in Manjakote village of Rajouri district today (Tuesday) morning,” a senior police official told IANS.

“They had gone for a bath in the river when sudden flash flood washed them away.

“Two dead bodies have so far been recovered while efforts are on to recover the remaining two,” the official said.

Flash floods in seasonal streams are a common feature especially in the mountainous areas of Jammu and Kashmir during the monsoon months.
