Couple strips in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan

new delhi: A couple in their 30s stripped in front of Rashtrapati Bhavan after they were denied entry to the president’s house, police said Monday. The couple went to the main gate of Rashtrapati Bhavan and demanded to meet President Pranab Mukherjee. When the security personnel at the entry asked for the reason, they failed to say why. “The couple then took off their clothes,” a police officer said. The stunned security personnel hurriedly made the couple wear some clothes.

4 more held for alleged assault on Manipuri women
New Delhi: Four more people were arrested on Monday in connection with alleged molestation and assault of two Manipuri women by a group of men who also hurled racist abuses at them in South Delhi on January 25. The Delhi Plice, however, did not reveal the identity of the four arrested. With this, the total number of arrested went up to five. “We would first hold a Test Identification Parade (TIP) where the victims will be called to identify the perpetrators. We would be in a position to disclose their identity only after that,” a senior police official said.

Former Goa CM to be quizzed by SIT in mining scam
panaji: Former Goa Chief Minister Digamber Kamat and several other government officials, including a suspended Director of Mines, will be questioned by the special investigation team (SIT) in connection with the multi-crore mining scam. While the recording of statements will begin from today, Kamat would be questioned by sleuths on February 8, Deputy Inspector General of Police K K Vyas said. Former Law Secretary V P Shetye, former director of mines J B Bhingui, suspended director of mines Arvind Lolienkar will also be questioned by the SIT.
