New Delhi: The government has dropped a Bill hurriedly prepared by the HRD Ministry for 10% economically weaker sections quota in the private educational institutions from the 2019 session. The Bill will not be brought in the 2-week budget session of Parliament beginning on Thursday but held back for the new government after the elections. The Law Ministry has asked the ministry to better put the Unaided Private Educational Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Bill, 2019, in the public domain to seek the views of public and the stakeholders. Such views cannot be obtained in the small window the Parliament session that ends on February 13 and so no chance of the sensitive Bill ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
