Prateek Chordia, is the man behind giving Pimpri Chinchwad a dash of hospitality, writes Kartiki Nitin Lawate.
It is often said that ‘one should not judge the book by its cover’. In a similar fashion, if you come across a young lad dressed in a comfortable casuals entering Pune-Chinchwad’s high profile Double Tree by Hilton he could be no ordinary man but the Director of the hotel, Prateek Chordia, himself. “When the very first guest walked into our hotel, that was the most special moment for us”, says Chordia.
He finds pleasure in personally welcoming his guests into world class hotel which houses 115-rooms, a 24-hour Precor fitness centre, outdoor pool, spa, range of dining venues, a bar featuring handpicked malts, innovative cocktails and a roof-top poolside lounge. “I got involved with the project right from deciding upon its interiors,” says Chordia who loves traveling, watching movies and cycling during his free hours.
The hotel is a part of International hospitality firm Hilton Worldwide and is located at Pimpri Chinchwad, near the key business and manufacturers hub and is claimed to be the first international brand in the area. No wonder it is attracting many of the factory owners and executives in and around which until now were deprived of international level of cuisine.
Double Tree’s fine dining options suit all tastes. Miyuki, a Japanese restaurant, showcases one of the globe’s most well-known and exquisite cuisines, with its delicate-yet-assertive flavors.
Treat yourself to local aromas, delicacies, ambience and a well-selected wine list at 3 Spices – our all day dining, serving Asian, India and Continental cuisine – or bring the night to life under a ceiling of stars, with the fragrances of authentic frontier cuisine at their rooftop jewel, Level 12. One can raise a toast with the selection of single malts and artistic cocktails at Linear Lounge where a resident DJ shall keep you entertained.
Asked about his own favorite chef and hotel, Chordia has a couple of them to mention. “No person in particular, but I really like designs incorporated by budget companies like Yotel and Citizen M. In luxury segment, I really like 4 Seasons and Oberois, ITC has some great FNB which I really admire,” he says with a smile.
“I grew up in Chinchwad, so it’s really heartening to see it develop in terms of infrastructure and connectivity. Besides all this, I love the nightlife of Pune,” says Chordia who doesn’t fail to offer a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie to every guests upon arrival. Hospitality, as warmer as it can get!
