Chennai: In its first successful seat-sharing parleys, DMK today allotted one seat to its junior partner Indian Union Muslim League.

“We have been allotted one seat,” IUML state president Prof K N Khader Mohideen told reporters.

Seat-sharing talks for the ensuing Lok Sabha polls were held between the two parties at DMK headquarters Anna Arivalayam here today.

DMK treasurer M K Stalin and Moideen were among those who represented their parties.

An official announcement on the constituency that would be allotted to IUML is expected to be made later.
